Chelsea Flower Show 2007: London. May 22 - 26, 2007
Mark Browning from cycas landscape design and consultancy along with Kiama Landscapes and Paving and Fleming's Nurseries are delighted to announce winning a coveted "Silver Gilt" Medal in the Show Garden category at the Chelsea Flower Show for the design and construction of the Fleming's and Trailfinders Australian Garden. This was the fourth garden presented by Fleming's Nurseries at the "Olympics" of gardening and is the culmination of 12 months of planning and design documentation and 16 days construction. Unlike the three previous Australian Gardens which were all derived from Gold Medal gardens from the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show , the 2007 exhibit had never been built and was constructed by a team with no garden show experience.
Thanks to:
-
Tim and Steve from Kiama Landscapes and Paving and their skilled crew of staff and contractors for the first rate construction of a challenging design.
-
Wes, Leanne, Jack and all support staff at Fleming's Nurseries for their commitment to horticultural excellence and managing the logistics of presenting a garden on the other side of the world.
-
Chris and Timo from Lump Sculpture for their beautiful light features and scultpure.
-
Blair from Gardens at Night for lighting the garden to its full potential.
-
Dean and David from Atkinson Pontifex for their generous support and uncompromising abilities in building the main structural elements within the garden.
-
Bamstone and Ken Hitchcock from KHD Stone Merchants for the supply of the finest bluestone material on the planet.
-
Scott Wynd for his experience and leadership in managing the entire project.
-
Anthony van Shaik from Biogro and Steven Potts from the Nursery Growers Industry Association of Victoria for their support and assistance during construction and manning the garden during the show.
-
Sound Light and Motion for the creation of the 3D renders promoting the design of a garden only a designer could visualise.
-
Management and staff from Trailfinders for their financial assistance to construct the garden and support during the show.
-
Tourism Australia, Tourism Victoria, and the State Government of Victoria.
-
All other suppliers that contributed materials and resources to the garden. A selection of images of the Australian Garden are included in the "Chelsea Flower Show" portfolio page.
